Huksie Installation
Huksie is easy to install with just a few basic tools. Follow the instructions below and you’ll be set up and ready for good times in no time.
1. Determine where you’d like to install your FlyBean wall unit.
If possible, mount the Center Plate directly to a wall stud. While not required, this can make installation easier and provide the most secure anchor point. When centered on a stud, the Center Plate—as well as the top and bottom plates—can typically be fastened with screws only.
2. Measure, mark, and install the Center Plate.
Measure, from the ground, up to 66”. Mark your location with a pencil, and drill a pilot hole.
Align the Center Plate with your drilled pilot hole. Use a screwdriver to install the screw. Do not over tighten here, we still need to be sure the Center Plate is level.
Place a level on top of the Center Plate to be sure it’s level, and secure tightly.
3. Mark and install the outer plates.
Grab an Outer Plate, slide in a Dowel, and insert into the top position. Be sure the dowel rests firmly in place before marking. Repeat this technique around the unit to mark each Outer Plate.
Your wall should now have 8 marked locations to install the Outer Plates.
Drill pilot holes for the top and bottom Outer Plates (required if placed on a stud), and install tightly with the provided screws.
Gently install the self-drilling drywall anchors for the remaining Outer Plates.
Assemble an Outer Plate and Dowel for each remaining mark. Align and screw in tightly.
Screw Pegs into each plate, firmly.
4. Mark your floor tossing location.
Using a FlyBean vinyl floor sticker, or another point of reference, mark the tossing distance to 8 ft.
